Continuous and Secure Communications From Space

The SpaceLink relay system provides global coverage to empower space systems operators to maximize the utilization of their assets and optimize services for their customers.

Most spacecraft in Low Earth Orbit – or LEO, circle the earth in around 90 minutes, gathering data along the way. Today, they can only deliver the data to the ground when they make a brief pass over an Earth station, which only lasts eight or nine minutes. These brief and infrequent encounters mean that only limited amounts of data can be transmitted, and the data can be an hour old or more.

SpaceLink solves this problem by providing continuous connectivity using three relay satellites operating in Medium Earth Orbit.  From this vantage point a SpaceLink satellite is always visible to spacecraft in LEO, and thanks to the constellation’s innovative architecture, a dedicated Gateway Earth station is always visible to the relay satellites. This is why we use the phrase Always in Sight™ as the tagline for the company.

Using inter-satellite links when needed, user data is transmitted to a secure gateway, and delivered to the client via terrestrial infrastructure, all in a fraction of a second.

SpaceLink has abundant spectrum rights, eliminating both bandwidth bottlenecks and regulatory and licensing burdens for its customers. This simplifies communications planning for human spaceflight, satellite intelligence gathering, Earth observation, and other data transfer needs.

The SpaceLink relay system provides global coverage to empower space systems operators to maximize the utilization of their assets and optimize services for their customers. It will help humanity advance into a new age of space commerce, exploration, environmental awareness, and security.
